Period A
1980 - 1993 — The golden era of Judaica etchings with rich biblical themes. 110 works.
During this period, Ebgi primarily focused on religious themes, though he continued to explore abstract forms as well.
In the wild, the etchings range from highly detailed and intricately colored pieces to those of lesser quality produced into the late 1990s. The highest quality was achieved during this era, with a peak in craftsmanship occurring in the mid to late-1980s.
The lithograph series is created from a prototype derived from one of the original etchings, showcasing the finest etching produced in that edition. The variation in print quality profoundly influences the history of Ebgi's art, underscoring the importance of collecting samples from the wild.
Later prints, in contrast, exhibited less detailed coloring and often used a uniform hue across large sections of the painting, resulting in a less aesthetically appealing effect.
